WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR TO DANCE?

We have a Dancewear supplier for all of your Dancewear needs, we also allow comfortable and practical clothes at CDS.

 

For students involved in Jazz - Tights, t-shirt, shorts, crop tops anything stretchy, and Jazz shoes. NO DENIM. 

For students involved in Ballet - Leotard, ballet skirts and tight fitting shorts, ballet wraps, ballet tights and ballet shoes.hair neatly in a bun.

For students involved in Hip Hop - sneakers and comfortable clothing NO DENIM 

For students involved in Fusion/Lyrical/Contemporary - Tights, shorts, comfortable practical tops. Students can purchase Foot thongs or be bare foot for these classes.

For students involved in tap - comfortable clothing, NO DENIM

WHERE CAN I GET DANCE SHOES FROM? 

Heidi our Dance Wear Supplier have all your dance wear needs, she knows the requirements for our schools classes so grab her card from reception on our way in/out!

AM I ABLE TO WATCH MY CHILDS CLASS?

We have a CLOSED DOOR POLICY. We encourage students to find confidence to independently participate in their new activity.  We do however open our doors in week 10 of term 1 and 2 to share and display their progress throughout the Term. :)

CAN MY CHILD TRIAL A CLASS? 

We support any student to try new dance styles with the available classes offered at CDS. Please approach one of our friendly staff members or shoot us an email to discuss which classes will be appropriate!

WHEN IS THE CONCERT? 

We unfortunately do not receive our End of Year concert date until the Canberra Theatre release all dance school dates mid year. We however always aim for our concert to fall on the first weekend of December of each year.

CAN MY CHILD MOVE UP A LEVEL?

We love the enthusiasm and initiative! Please approach your class teacher and inquire if this would be an option. We pride ourselves in practicing safe dancing and can give direction to improving students to their new goal :)
