2024 with the CDS Troupe family

CDS offers students who demonstrate talent, drive and performance the opportunity to compete and put their skills to the test. We focus on a nurturing environment mixed with the discipline and dedication that dance demands, under the guidance of teachers who are not only trained in all styles but know all too well, what it takes to be a troupe member. 

Age Groups

U8

Commitment level: MEDIUM

Troupe day: TBC

Pre-requisite: 

Minimum 2 years of dance experience in either jazz or ballet.

 

What to expect:

For all our under 8 future shining stars please offer your interest with us. We will provide more information later in the year.

U10 | U12 | U14 | SNR

Commitment level: HIGH

Troupe day: MONDAY

Pre-requisite: 

Minimum of 3 years of advanced technical training in dance. 

What to expect:

Learning up to 6 routines a year in all styles, up to 5 competitions through out the year. These troupes are the elite squads of the CDS family. All troupes demonstrate the highest quality of technique, performance and camaraderie. 

U10 | SNR DEV TROUPE 

Commitment level: Low

Troupe Day:

U10 - TBC 

SNR DEV - Monday

Pre-requisite:

Minimum 2 years of dance in styles Jazz.

Non audition. Enquiries and invitation only.

What to expect:

Learning 1-3 Routines and being involved in 2 competitions a year. These troupes will work to improve their dance technique and experience  across a couple genres whilst working up to the expectations of the elite troupes , minus level of commitment. A great option to trial troupe and see if it's for you!

Extra Routines

A Chance for the dancer who works exceedingly hard and would like to challenge themselves. This opportunity is catered to our highest performing students who demonstrate a skill set in technique, performance, musicality and endurance. 

An extra routine is given to a selection of dancers from the existing troupes to compete at competitions.

Full-Time Mentoring

We provide mentoring for students wishing to continue in the performing arts beyond school age years of dance in, Canberra. With performance level training and guidance from experienced industry workers, this program is opened to the current troupe students of CDS seeking mentorship leading into the arts.
