WHAT HAS DANCE TAUGHT YOU ABOUT LIFE?
I used to view dance as my getaway, my safe space. As I grew older, I realised that it isn’t. Dance isn’t a place to feel comfortable or chill. That’s what the community and studio is for. Dance should make you uncomfortable and will break your heart. It should drain you and make you sweat, you should feel empty after every performance because you’ve given it your everything. You should feel tired but that one thing always pulls you back and it’s passion. If it isn’t, then why do you dance? We’re all here to create something special and eye opening. We pour our laugher, sorrow, emotion, joy and confusion into what we do. That’s why it’s so entertaining, it tells a story of our lives not just a count of eight. Life isn’t like dance. Life is where you pretend and hide behind everyone else. Dance is your true form, dance is you.

WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVATION AS A DANCE TEACHER?
Nothing motivates me more than seeing my students grow. I am so grateful and appreciate all the people I’ve had in my life that have pushed and challenged me. I did not, in a million years, think I would be where I am, 5 years ago but if they had not trained me the way they had, I wouldn’t have EVER seen my potential. That’s what I want anyone I teach to see. I want to give them that perspective of what they are able to do and how great they can become. I want to seen growth.
